Don’t worry, below EastBoom has sorted out detailed operating steps for you, so that you can weld easily!
Connect the power supply of each part of the welding machine. You must use 220V, 50Hz AC power, with voltage fluctuation within 10%, and the power supply should have a grounding wire; at the same time, ensure that the surface of the heating plate is clean and free of scratches.
Connect the pump station and the frame with hydraulic lines. Before connecting, check and clean the dirt at the joints to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system and damaging hydraulic components; after the hydraulic lines are connected, the joints should be locked to prevent the danger of the joints being opened under high pressure during operation.
Clamp the HDPE pipe to be welded firmly and fix it on the frame. When welding large-diameter pipes, it is best to use discarded pipe sections or special supports to pad and level, to protect the pipe and reduce the friction during the welding process.
Open the frame, place the milling cutter, rotate the locking knob, and fix the milling cutter on the frame. When starting the pump station, it should be carried out when the direction control handle is in the neutral position. It is strictly forbidden to start under high pressure.
Start the milling cutter, close the clamps, and cut the end faces of the pipes (or fittings).
When continuous cutting is formed, reduce the pressure, open the clamps, and turn off the milling cutter. This process must be carried out in the order of reducing pressure first, then opening the clamps, and finally turning off the milling cutter.
Remove the milling cutter, close the clamps, and check the gap between the two ends of the HDPE pipe (the gap shall not be greater than 0.3mm). When removing the milling cutter from the frame, avoid collision between the milling cutter and the end faces. If a collision has occurred, re-milling is required; do not touch the milled end faces with hands or contaminate them with oil or other dirt.
Check the coaxiality of the HDPE pipes (the maximum misalignment shall be 10% of the pipe wall thickness). When the gap and misalignment between the two end faces do not meet the requirements, the parts to be welded should be re-clamped and milled, and the next step can only be carried out after passing the inspection.
Check whether the temperature of the heating plate is suitable (210℃±10℃), and the red indicator light of the heating plate should be on or flashing. After the red light on the heating plate lights up for the first time, it is best to wait another 10 minutes before use, so that the temperature of the entire heating plate is uniform.
Test the system’s drag pressure P0 and record it. The drag pressure of each weld must be measured; when the drag pressure is too high, methods such as padding with short HDPE pipes can be used to solve it.
